Job Description for Outside Sales Representative
Pro-Tek Field Services
The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for:
- Primary customer interface, providing details of Pro-Tek’s services and solutions to customers
- Develop new customers while expanding established accounts
- Work independently to schedule 5 to 7 customer meetings weekly (remote or in person)
- Prepare and maintain business plan to meet Pro-Tek sales targets and business objectives
- Ability to create estimates and proposals
- Present to clients while effectively articulating the specifics
- Work closely with clients to provide custom solutions to meet desired specifications for automation and measurement applications
- Stay up to date with industry trends as it relates to customer requirements, opportunities and timelines
- Knowledge of instrumentation and measurement products
- Build long‐term partnerships with senior management for key customer accounts along with developing a complete understanding of organizational structures and key buying influences
Qualifications & Required Skills:
- BS in Engineering/ Marketing preferred but not required
- 3 years of sales experience in industrial automation, specifically O&G
- 2 years of experience within the upstream, midstream, and/or downstream markets with a focus on electrical, automation, measurement & controls
- Ability to walk down potential project sites with ability to build project estimates for Automation/Measurement projects
- Strong familiarity with the following OEM control system platforms :Rockwell Automation products (PlantPAX, Factory Talk SE, Logix PLC hardware)
- Endress Hauser instrumentation/ products experience a major plus
- Emerson, Fisher ROC, Flow Boss, Rosemount end devices, DeltaV platform
- ABB Products, to include Total Flows, the RMC-100, and various other ABB end devices
- Track record of winning new business as well as a portfolio of existing clients and decision makers
- Experience working for a control systems integrator or vendor in the O&G industry is a plus
- Strong business development skills
- Ability to work remotely and independently
- Strong communication and presentation skills required
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Ability to lift, push, and pull 50 pounds.
- Able to work in close quarters i.e., work while kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing, and standing.
- Follow and adhere to all applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines (ex eye protection, footwear, Nomex).
