Concrete Finisher/Form Setter

Concrete Finisher/Form Setters build and install molds or forms used to hold concrete in place during curing. These forms must be constructed accurately and securely to ensure the proper shape and stability of the poured concrete. As a finisher you will be responsible for smoothing, shaping, and finishing freshly poured concrete on commercial construction projects. This role requires experience in handling concrete surfaces and the ability to work with other trades on-site.

Responsibilities:

• Build, install, and remove wooden or metal forms for concrete pours.
• Ensure forms are level, aligned, and properly braced.
• Install reinforcement like rebar or mesh according to project plans.
• Communicate any changes or issues on-site with the foreman or project manager.
• Clean tools and job site at the end of each shift.
• Smooth and finish freshly poured concrete surfaces, including floors, driveways, and foundations.
• Set up and align concrete forms to desired specifications.
• Apply surface treatments such as sealants and coatings.
• Use hand tools, trowels, and power equipment to finish concrete to the required smoothness and finish.
• Inspect surfaces to ensure they meet quality standards and project specifications.
• Coordinate with other workers to ensure concrete is placed and finished on time.
• Ensure safety standards are followed and that tools and equipment are properly maintained.

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of experience in concrete finishing and form setting
• Strong knowledge of finishing techniques and materials
• Must have all basic hand tools and a cordless drill
• Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings
• Comfortable working in various weather conditions
• Ability to work effectively within a team
• Must be able to pass a drug screen and E-Verify
• Reliable transportation
• OSHA certification is a plus
