We are looking for a Safety Clerk to support the day-to-day activities of our Safety department.
Safety Clerk responsibilities include placing job ads on careers pages, updating drivers’ records, and data entry. If you want to kickstart your career in the Transportation field and learn more about procedures including drivers onboarding, training and DOT compliance, this position is for you.
Ultimately, you will help run and improve our company’s Safety functions while creating a great working environment.
Responsibilities
- Publish and update job ads on careers pages
- Schedule interviews with drivers
- Maintain drivers’ records
- Prepare spreadsheets and daily updates
- Screen job applications, run background checks and prepare onboarding documents for all drivers.
- Update internal databases with new hires’ data (e.g. contact detail, personal information)
- Distribute physical and digital training material
- Store, copy and scan original applications
- Issue training to new drivers
Requirements
- GED or High School Diploma
- Work experience in the Transportation industry
- Good understanding of operations (recruiting, onboarding, training, and compliance)
- Basic knowledge of DOT compliance
- Hands-on experience with MS Office
- Solid organizational and time-management skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
