Job Overview :
The Security Specialist (Information Assurance / Security Specialist) will play a critical role in supporting the IRSs Microsoft 365 (M365) Program Management Office by ensuring robust security and compliance within the M365 cloud environment. The role involves safeguarding sensitive data implementing advanced security measures and providing expertise on governance and risk mitigation. This position is essential to maintaining the integrity confidentiality and availability of IRS systems and data.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement data readiness plans and integrate Purview to protect sensitive information.
- Assist with applying enterprise policies establishing data connectors and implementing security configurations across the M365 suite.
- Collaborate with teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to M365 security.
- Provide expertise in managing Security Change Requests and audit logging solutions.
- Assist in the design and management of SharePoint Online and other M365 applications for secure operations.
- Demonstrate knowledge of advanced Microsoft product enhancements including Defender Purview Copilot and other integrated security tools.
- Conduct risk assessments identify vulnerabilities and propose mitigation strategies.
- Support governance and compliance efforts ensuring adherence to federal standards and best practices.
- Document processes and create training materials to support security awareness and operational consistency.
- Provide regular status reports to stakeholders including deliverables risks mitigations and accomplishments.
PROJECT OVERVIEW
