Medical Biller/Collector

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Biller with Physical Therapy billing experience to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing billing processes, ensuring accuracy in medical coding, and facilitating timely collections. This role is crucial in maintaining the financial health of our medical practice while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.

Responsibilities

• Accurately process and submit medical billing claims to insurance companies and patients.
• Review patient records and documentation to ensure all necessary information is included for billing purposes.
• Utilize medical coding systems, including ICD-9 and ICD-10, to assign appropriate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Manage accounts receivable by following up on unpaid claims and conducting medical collections as necessary.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve billing discrepancies and clarify any issues related to medical records.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, billing regulations, and compliance standards within the healthcare industry.
• Ensure that all billing practices align with DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) guidelines and other relevant policies.

Experience

• Proven experience in medical billing, including familiarity with various billing systems and software.
• Strong understanding of medical records management and the ability to interpret clinical documentation effectively.
• Knowledge of medical coding practices, including proficiency in ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG coding systems.
• Experience in a medical office setting is preferred, along with a solid grasp of medical terminology.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all aspects of billing processes.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers.
