In this role, youll collaborate closely with teachers, staff, and families to gain insights into child and adolescent development, address student challenges, and provide strategic guidance to enhance the learning and behavioral climate. You will also work to create and implement programs that improve students' mental health and well-being, and support the overall academic mission of the school district.
Additionally, youll be able to lead initiatives that celebrate diversity, inclusion, and mutual respect within the school community. Whether it's supporting students with specific behavioral or emotional challenges, promoting mental health awareness, or implementing strategies to strengthen students social and emotional skills, youll be at the forefront of creating a more resilient and supportive educational environment.
Position Overview:
Job Type: Part-time, for the remainder of the 24/25 school year
Core Responsibilities:
Conduct psychological evaluations and assessments for students
Participate in and provide input for IEP meetings, working collaboratively with other professionals
Provide individual and group counseling to students, addressing academic, social, and emotional concerns
Develop and implement programs to promote student mental health, behavioral development, and academic success
Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to develop strategies for supporting students in the classroom setting
Support the development of behavior intervention plans and provide ongoing counseling as needed
Provide crisis intervention and support in difficult situations
Consult with families to offer resources and strategies for student success
Offer workshops and training to staff regarding mental health, behavior management, and student wellness
Caseload: To be discussed during the interview
Start Date: Immediate (as soon as possible for the remainder of the 24/25 school year)

Qualifications Needed:
Active Alabama Licensure (Ed.S or Doctoral level) in School Psychology
Doctoral-level degree in School Psychology
Previous school-based experience is a plus, but not required
Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently while maintaining a team-oriented approach
Passion for supporting student mental health and academic success
