Special Education Teacher
Location: Vancouver, WA
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and assess individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of students with disabilities.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with varying learning abilities in both one-on-one and group settings.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and parents to create and maintain effective educational strategies and accommodations.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, adjusting teaching methods and strategies as necessary to meet students evolving needs.
- Utilize a variety of instructional materials and resources to enhance learning experiences and engagement.
- Conduct and participate in IEP meetings, ensuring that all relevant stakeholders are involved in the development and review of educational plans.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, behavior, and other relevant data.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that promotes respect, empathy, and collaboration.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field required; Masters degree preferred.
- Valid Washington State teaching certification with an endorsement in Special Education.
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs and disabilities is highly desirable.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and tools to support instruction.
