Position Overview: ProCare Therapy is on the lookout for a dedicated Special Education Instructor to join our passionate team at our school district in Oscoda, MI. The ideal candidate will possess experience working with students across a range of abilities and will be focused on creating engaging, personalized learning experiences. This role involves working closely with general education staff, families, and support personnel to ensure each student receives tailored educational opportunities.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to cater to each students unique needs.
- Modify and adapt instructional methods and materials to support various learning preferences.
- Provide both direct support and instructional assistance to students with disabilities in inclusive and specialized settings.
- Collaborate with families, educators, and related service providers to monitor student progress and make necessary adjustments to IEPs.
- Foster a positive and engaging classroom environment that encourages student participation and self-advocacy.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay informed about the latest trends and strategies in special education.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field; a Masters degree is a plus.
- Valid Michigan Special Education teaching license.
- Experience in a classroom setting with students with disabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- A strong commitment to promoting an inclusive and respectful educational setting.
