We are seeking a compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide one-on-one support for a student in a school setting in Lewiston, ME. The LPN will be responsible for managing the students healthcare needs throughout the school day, ensuring their health, safety, and well-being. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide medical care and monitor the students health throughout the school day.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments, documenting each intervention as required.
- Maintain and update accurate health records, ensuring compliance with school policies and regulations.
- Respond to medical emergencies as needed, including administering first aid and coordinating with emergency services when necessary.
- Collaborate with school staff, parents, and healthcare professionals to develop and implement an individualized health plan for the student.
- Ensure the students health and safety needs are met, making adjustments to care as necessary.
- Communicate effectively with school staff and parents regarding the students medical status and needs.
- Assist the student in performing daily tasks as required by their health condition.
Qualifications:
- Current LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) license in the state of Maine.
- Previous experience working with children, students with special needs, or in a school-based environment is preferred.
- Strong understanding of first aid, CPR, and basic emergency medical procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with students, parents, and school personnel.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills for maintaining accurate health records.
- Ability to handle medical situations with professionalism and sensitivity.
- Knowledge of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) or care plans is a plus.
Requirements:
- Active LPN license in the state of Maine.
- Current certification in CPR and First Aid (or willingness to obtain certification within the first 30 days of employment).
- Ability to pass a background check and meet school district requirements.
