School Nurse Needed for Barrington, RI

Position Type : Full-Time, Immediate Start through End of School Year

Caseload : Elementary Students, 1 : 1 Support

Location : Barrington, Rhode Island

We are currently seeking an experienced School Nurse (RN or LPN) to provide essential, hands-on care for elementary-aged students in a 1 : 1 position for the remainder of the school year. This is a full-time role that offers a unique opportunity to make a direct and lasting impact on the health and well-being of young learners.

About the Position :

As the School Nurse , you will be responsible for supporting the health needs of a specific elementary student, ensuring they receive the medical care and attention they need to succeed in the classroom. This is a specialized, one-on-one position, allowing you to build strong relationships with the student, their family, and the school staff.

Key Responsibilities :

Provide ongoing medical care, including administering first aid and medication, as needed, throughout the school day
Manage students' health records and keep up to date with any medical requirements or modifications
Monitor and support students with chronic health conditions, allergies, or other medical needs
Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to ensure accommodations and health plans are followed
Educate students and staff on health-related topics, promoting wellness and safety throughout the school
Maintain a clean and safe environment for students to ensure their health and safety

Qualifications :

Valid RN or LPN license required

Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting is preferred

Strong knowledge of child health and common childhood conditions

Ability to remain calm in emergency situations while maintaining a professional and compassionate demeanor

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with school staff, students, and parents

A strong desire to make a positive difference in the lives of young learners
