1. Middle school self contained unit mixed exceptionalities
2. Elementary self contained unit mixed exceptionalities
3. Middle School self-contained mixed exceptionalities and behavior
Resource:
1. Middle School resource serving primarily 7th graders
2. High School resource serving primarily 12th graders
Position: Special Education Teacher
Location: Ashville, Alabama
Duration: Full Time; 2024-2025 School Year
Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team for the upcoming school year. You will collaborate with educators, parents, and specialists to ensure every student receives the personalized attention and resources necessary to thrive academically and socially.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the varying learning capabilities of students.
- Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and technologies to engage students in meaningful learning experiences.
- Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, counselors, and other specialists to support student learning and development.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
- Valid Alabama Special Education Teaching License or eligibility for certification.
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs and disabilities.
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with assistive technology and adaptive equipment.
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and positive behavior support strategies.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
