PMO Group Manager

Job Summary/Objective/Role:

Responsible for the overall planning, organizing, assigning, and execution of all PMO group functions. Coordinate and drive the business relationship with key internal partners, significant external partners, and clients. This includes directing all operations to meet company goals and customer requirements, as well as the development of all group strategies. Responsible for all innovation and execution elements of the PMO group.

Required Qualifcations:

  • 5 years of demonstrated experience as a project manager; preference given to systems integration or food manufacturing environment
  • 5 years of demonstrated experience managing performance and development of team members
  • PMP certification or equivalent
  • Travel required

Essential Functions:

  • Partner with management team to align the PMO group with Process and Data Automation’s and Krones’ strategic direction.
    • Work closely with management team and other group leaders to define appropriate growth goals and strategies within the PMO group.

  • Build and develop PMO group organization, processes and procedures to support business needs.
    • Stays abreast of project management trends and strategies to ensure effectiveness and compliance and drive continuous improvement by regularly undertaking a review of process, policies, and procedures to identify process gaps and recommend process updates.
    • Participate with senior management team in developing and implementing company policy.

  • Ensure successful operations of the PMO Group (Ensures internal and external users/clients are provided professional, courteous, and timely support and service.)
    • Oversees the PMO group training requirements and maintains an effective team skills matrix.
    • Work closely with ENG/Digitization Managers on customer-specific initiatives to ensure team preparation and execution alignment.
    • Ensures the consistency and maintainability of existing processes/skills by driving creation, ensuring maintenance of, and enforcing standards/procedures for implementing technical solutions.
    • Directly and indirectly maintain project controls and staffing levels that accurately reflect completed work against project plans, schedules and budgets, and ensure user/management involvement at appropriate milestones. Communicate needs to HR to support the recruitment process.
    • Closely monitor resource planning across the group to ensure appropriate resource balancing and to manage resource conflicts.
    • Assist PMO group members on analyzing risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
    • Routinely participate in project review sessions to evaluate performance, trends, and watchpoints.
    • Ensure PMO team members are performing at the most efficient level and meeting financial goals
    • Support the PMO team on the most complex application issues for clients. Identifies problems and coordinates appropriate corrective action. Coordinate with parent company as necessary; escalating problem issues identified by the team.
    • Exercise immediate responsibility and authority over equipment and resources to ensure that the PMO group operates at highest efficiency possible.
    • Ensures compliance of all company and applicable client policies and procedures.
    • Promote a culture of safety within the Digitalization group and exemplify safety best practices.
    • Assign team member to provide system requirements, labor and hardware needed and technical information to the sales team to support proposal development for complex solutions.
    • Ensure adherence to cyber security best practices within the group.
    • Ensure adherence to cyber security best practices in product development and delivery.
    • Represents the PMO group at public events, specialty events, and client meetings when appropriate.
    • Continuous and active involvement with Krones peers and other appropriate peer groups.
    • Represents PMO group at career fairs and identifies prospective employees for the group.
    • Represents PMO group at product demonstrations, trade shows and other promotional activities to support the sales and marketing process.
    • Maintains a qualified workforce with a high level of employee engagement.
    • Coordinate and direct all PMO group meetings
    • Monitors and advises, as necessary, on all project work assignments for the PMO group.
    • Acts as overall coach and mentor for PMO group via first-hand interaction and coordination of mentor relationships and opportunities led by others
    • Involved with interviews for PMO group, review resumes, and make recommendations for new hires,and promotions.
    • Supports career pathway development for direct reports.
    • Ensures compliance of federal, state and local employment laws.
    • Provides new employees support and training.
    • Facilitates open communication among all group members.
    • Monitor group performance and enable strategies to maintain highest level of group effectiveness.
    • Define each team member’s individual goals and monitor progress against the company’s goals.
    • Conducts performance reviews for group members.
    • Provides input to the Vice President and HR on individual performance and disciplinary action for all group members.
    • Works with the PMO group members to identify and recommend training and development opportunities for each member of the group.
    • Participates in and reviews staff exit interview data for direct reports.
    • Coordinates with management team to institute practices that foster high morale.
    • Attends to staff concerns raised through various avenues.
    • Provides leadership and management to ensure that the mission and core values of the company are put into practice.
    • Conducts self in a manner that reflects the mission and core values.
    • Holds others accountable to ensure that the mission and core values are practices throughout the company.

Priority Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft products (Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook)
  • Broad knowledge of IT/OT, MES, and factory automation
  • Broad knowledge of Food & Beverage or a related manufacturing industry
  • Considerable knowledge of project management practices and procedures
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent products, initiatives, and programs
  • Motivate professional staff
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Aptitude for learning new technologies

Physical Demands:

Must possess ability to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer, and to visit various client and meeting sites; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups, and over the telephone. Finger dexterity needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard and to operate standard office equipment. This is primarily a sedentary office classification although prolonged standing and walking and the ability to climb ramps, stairs, and ladders may be required when traveling or on client site. May occasionally require the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects up to 40 pounds or heavier weights with assistance and/or the use of proper equipment.
