Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Paint/Sandblast/Coating Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various painting and blasting techniques, with a strong focus on safety and quality. As a specialist you will plan, direct, and coordinate the work activities and resources necessary for all PESCO’s paint, powder coating and sandblast facilities. Strong background in industrial painting and supervision of teams. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate painting and coating from start to finish.
- Lead a team of painters, ensuring work is completed safely and on time.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Inspect work progress and quality to ensure adherence to project specifications and safety standards.
- Knowledge of the correct procedures for stripping, blasting, sanding, powder coating and powder coating oven.
- Ensure all work performed is meets quality standards, job specifications and customers’ approval.
- Be familiar with industry specifications such as NACE, SSPC and others as may be referenced in specifications and procedures
- Train new team members on painting techniques, safety protocols, and company procedures.
- Communicate effectively with project managers and customers regarding project status, issues, and changes
- Maintain accurate records of materials used
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards including paint usage and disposal.
- Monitor and keep paint department in conformance with all EPA regulations.
- Monitor and track all open paint and blast jobs.
- Track time posted on jobs and keep jobs within target hours.
- Initiate and maintain weekly department safety / information meetings.
- Inspect work as being performed by employees and ensure work being done conforms to PESCO procedures
Requirements

- NACE Certification Level 2 or 3
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial painting, with proven experience in a supervisory or foreman role
- Have an excellent working knowledge and understanding of paint documents and paint data sheets
- Extensive knowledge of coating regulations and industry standards
- Experience with industrial equipment and machinery related to the position
- Knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation, and coating applications
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and team members
- Prepares and maintains necessary records and reports relating to paint and coatings of manufactured equipment
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Ability to work independently, self-starting and self-directed
- Make decisions based on established guidelines and regulations
- Ability to recognize problems and address thein an expedited manner
- Must be able to read, understand and write in English
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
