What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pipe and Structural Fitter position at Process Manufacturing?
JOB SUMMARY
· A Fitter uses company supplied Cut Sheets and Drawings to lay out and tack/weld various assemblies to within approved tolerances and specifications
· Is available to be used in other departments depending on workload and need
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
· Arrives at work on time, clocks in on the correct job, and is prepared to begin working at the start of shift
· Completes tasks assigned by the Fabrication Manager in a timely manner
· Verify that the Cut Sheet and Drawing are the same part number and revision
· Inspects pieces required to complete the assigned job, making sure quantities are correct and match the Cut Sheet or Drawing
· Prepare pieces to be fit by grinding, coping, blasting, cleaning, etc.
· Makes sure correct fixture is being used by matching fixture part number to the Cut Sheet or Drawing when applicable
· Using previous knowledge or training use bracing material to hold pieces in place for final welding
· Verify that the assembly matches the supplied drawing and is ready for complete weld before piece leaves fitting area
REQUIREMENT
· Must supply basic fitting tools
· Must be site trained in overhead crane usage
· Must be proficient in the use of tape measure, steel square, and level
· Must be able to use oxygen/acetylene torch, plasma cutter, and grinders
· Must be detail oriented and able to follow detailed drawings precisely
· Strong work ethic and ability to communicate with Fabrication Manager and Quality Control Inspector
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
· Ability to lift 50lbs.
· Ability to stand, climb, twist and bend during scheduled shift
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
