We are seeking a U.S. Operations Manager, reporting to the President of PRI. The Operations Manager has direct management responsibility for the leaders of Production, Inside Sales and Quality Assurance / HSE. In addition to overseeing the daily activities of the 15-20 employees in these groups, the Operations Manager has responsibility for ensuring a safe work environment, maximizing customer satisfaction, training and developing employees, managing expenses, and continually improving our processes.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure safe work environment by modeling and enforcing compliance with HSE policies and regulations.
  • Oversee daily activities in Operations functions :
  • Valve assembly / testing / automation / repair
  • Component machining
  • Shipping / receiving / inventory management
  • Customer quotations
  • Customer order and technical support
  • Supplier management and procurement
  • Product inspection
  • Administration of Quality Management System
  • Maintenance of production equipment
  • Ensure disciplined use of ERP system and other tools and processes.
  • Plan and maintain inventory levels in conjunction with Sales to meet customer service requirements.
  • Monitor and manage expenses vs. budget.
  • Achieve performance to goal on established Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to improve profitability by improving processes and production equipment.
  • Work effectively with other functions (Engineering, Outside Sales, Finance, HR) to align and drive initiatives to achieve business objectives.
  • Oversee hiring and training of employees in areas of responsibility.

Qualifications

Required

  • B.S. degree, preferably in engineering or supply chain management, or equivalent experience.
  • 10 years experience with increasing responsibility in a discrete-manufacturing or industrial-service environment, with at least 3 years of overall management responsibility for a facility or manufacturing cell.
  • 3 years of leadership experience in an ISO 9001 registered manufacturing or service environment.
  • Experience managing operations, customer service / quotations, and procurement, including managing expenses to budget.
  • Deep experience using an ERP system in a manufacturing or service environment.
  • Intermediate-to-advanced skill with Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
  • Excellent communication, planning, organization, and team-leadership skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to new situations and changing priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and action orientation.
  • Preferred

  • Experience managing suppliers outside the USA.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement practices.
  • Proven experience in successfully implementing quality improvement initiatives in an industrial manufacturing setting.
  • Strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical information into clear and concise documentation.
  • Proficiency in document management and version control tools.
