POSITION SUMMARY: The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Director will lead the development, implementation, and management of comprehensive EHS programs to ensure a safe and compliant work environment across all company operations. The role requires a strategic leader who can drive cultural change, promote proactive safety initiatives, and ensure all relevant regulations.
Required Education: Bachelors degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Education: Professional certification such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or equivalent is highly desirable
Required Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety roles within industrial manufacturing and construction settings.
Preferred Experience: Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing EHS teams and initiatives. Proven track record of developing and implementing EHS programs that have led to measurable improvements in safety performance and compliance
RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:
Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with OSHA, MSHA, EPA, FMCSA/DOT, and other regulatory requirements.
Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
Lead and review incident investigations to determine leading indicators and implement preventive measures.
Provide EHS training and education programs to employees at all levels.
Collaborate with management to integrate EHS considerations into operational decision-making.
Monitor and report on EHS performance metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies and ensure timely reporting and communication.
Oversee emergency response planning and preparedness activities.
Foster a culture of safety and environmental stewardship throughout the organization.
