Responsibilities
Essential Functions :
Be a hunter! Aggressively prospect into new accounts for local government and commercial organizations
Identify and pursue new revenue opportunities within current key accounts
Meet and exceed sales targets
Define and effectively deliver the value proposition for location technologies to clients
Respond to solicitations and produce proposals in coordination with the Bid & Proposal team
Oversee the generation of estimates in coordination with Operations
Track and report on the sales pipeline
Provide internal and external thought-leadership with GIS technologies
Establish oneself as a recognized expert in location technologies through regular blogging, tweeting, and participation in related industry forums and conferences
Report to the VP Strategy & Business Development for the Enterprise Infrastructure & Security Business Unit
Required Skills
Qualifications
Competencies and Skills :
Capable of presenting new technologies and ideas to decision makers
Consultative in nature! Possess the ability to understand and solve the client’s business problem(s)
Advanced knowledge of the application of GIS technologies
Knowledge of the sales pipeline and CRM systems, Salesforce preferred
Ability to engage clients, track and qualify leads, and close sales
Exceptional customer service orientation
Excellent follow-up and organizational skills
Excellent interpersonal, writing, and presentation skills
Demonstrated ability to work productively with a wide range of people
Self-motivated, driven and pro-active
Experience Required :
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, IT / GIS, Geography or related field
Experience with GIS technologies, preferably the Esri technology stack
Experience in business development for professional services
Understanding of State & Local governments’ business needs
Additional experience can be substituted for education
Desired Skills
Experience Preferred (In addition to required experience) :
Successful track record of meeting and / or exceeding sales quotas within an organization that sells technical services
Demonstrated relationships with decision makers in State & Local Government
