Job description
ProChem is seeking a responsible individual to work independently, safely, and efficiently. This person will operate a comprehensive wastewater treatment system in the Covington, GA area. You will work with the customer and the ProChem technical team daily to operate, maintain, and optimize the onsite wastewater treatment system.
This position is seeking a candidate with experience in Physical Chemical and Membrane Systems. We offer on-the-job training and full benefits for you and your family (company-subsidized). Growth within the technical services and sales teams is possible from this position.
ProChem's head offices are located in Elliston, VA. This position reports directly to the District Operations Supervisor. The account is also supported by the other members of the Georgia area accounts management team, who can all provide safety, technical, and professional training and guidance.
The successful candidate must: be able to perform the required job duties, meet the required education, and experience criteria, possess the required skills, meet the physical demands of the position, and commute reliably to the work location for the specified schedule. Preference will be given to candidates who possess skills and training marked as "preferred."

The operations technician will provide complete management of the Systems, including the following:
- Provide labor, routine preventative maintenance, and supervision to safely operate the Systems 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, including coverage for paid time off and sick days.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance activities for the Systems within a predefined budget (budget not included in this Contract).
- Perform membrane cleanings on the existing ultrafiltration system.
- Participate and adhere to plant safety requirements and training
- Provide necessary operator supplies and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Perform daily process testing as required to ensure discharge compliance.
- Review and update existing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the Systems; create new SOPs, as necessary.
- Test, monitor and report on incoming water quality to the Systems; impose stop-work authority of wastewater plant operations if water quality is out of specification.
- Perform weekly calibrations of Systems instrumentation.
- Provide inventory management for all consumable items (e.g., chemicals, carbon columns, filters) including recommended purchase schedule based on inventory.
- Document data on daily flow, operation conditions, and consumable item use; provide weekly reports on Systems performance.
- Identify opportunities to improve and optimize Systems operation.
- Work with the Company to plan and execute larger contract maintenance jobs, as needed.
- Provide support for waste truck hauling and sludge removal process, as needed.
Desired Skills & Experience:

Desired Education & Experience:
- High school diploma (required)
- Previous experience working in an industrial setting (preferred)
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role (preferred)
- Experience in Physical Chemical and Membrane Systems. (preferred)
Schedule Requirements:
- We are currently hiring for day shift, 5 8-hour shifts per week with occasional Saturday work and overtime.
Physical Demands & Environment:
- This position requires working indoors and outdoors during all weather conditions.
- The work facilities include modest amenities.
- The individual will be exposed to noise from machinery and a variety of odors.
- This position requires the individual to work with hazardous chemicals and compounds.
- The position requires moderate activity with frequent walking, standing for long periods, sitting, bending, stooping, reaching, pulling, lifting, and ladder work.
- It may require the ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- The position requires the employee work around electricity and water, plumbing
systems.
