Position Purpose
The Site Supervisor provides strong leadership to the Sanitation team to achieve full plant
compliance with all personnel safety, food safety, sanitation / cleaning requirements pertaining to
all federal, state and customer requirements. They must meet or exceed guidelines as they pertain to the facility, equipment and industry standards for sanitation. The Site Supervisor performs a variety of tasks including special projects, cleaning, sanitizing, requisitioning supplies and equipment, facilities inspection, and other duties as required based on the needs of the business.
Essential Functions
Leads the sanitation team in safe working practices including chemical handling, PPE and OSHA requirements.
Problem solves with other leaders, with an open-mind and the spirit of co-operation in appositive and professional manner.
Establish standards and procedures for staff; will be required to lead by example
Assist in the development, organization and participation of departmental training program; provides on-going supervision and coaching to improve operations with positive reinforcement and goals.
Accountability for all inventory control
Delegate tasks and set deadlines; Oversee day-to-day operations
Monitor team performance and provide motivation and training / coaching to the team
Perform varying tasks while standing, lifting, crouching, etc. during long periods of time.
Perform all tasks safely and in a manner that will not create or pose a direct threat to the health and / or safety of the sanitation worker or any other person.
Education
Associate Degree in Business Management, or related field preferred; High School Diploma Required
Skills
Bi-lingual preferred
Proven understanding of principles and processes for providing business sanitation and cleaning services, includes needs assessment, meeting quality standards, and evaluation of results.
Previous work experience as a team leader or supervisor
Organizational and time-management skills that allow quality work within deadlines
Interact professionally with other employees, customers and suppliers.
Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments, under stressful conditions.
Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations.
Be willing to perform varying tasks per the supervisor's instructions and in accordance with all safety guidelines mandated by the employer.
Requirements
Physical Requirements
Infrequently lift / move hoses, equipment, chemical containers weighing 20-80 lbs. throughout each and every work shift.
Wear employer-specified protective gear, including gloves, face / eye shields, aprons, boots, etc.
Exposure to chemical cleaning solution (with protective gear).
Excessive ascending and / or descending of ladders and stairs using feet and legs and / or hands and arms on a regular basis. Body agility is emphasized
Walking : Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances on a regular basis
Repetitive motions : Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and / or fingers
Standing : Particularly for sustained periods of time on concrete
Stooping : Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist on a regular basis
Reaching : Extending hands and arms in any direction
Pushing : Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.
Pulling : Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
Kneeling : Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees occasionally
Crouching : Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine
Lifting : Able to lift up to 55lbs on a regular basis, up to 60lbs occasionally
