Position Overview
We're seeking a detail-oriented Lien Processing Specialist to join our Liens Department. This entry-level position focuses on accurate data entry and document processing of medical liens. You'll learn to handle time-sensitive legal documents while following established procedures and maintaining high accuracy standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Document Processing
- Review and process medical liens following department checklists and procedures
- Enter lien information accurately into multiple systems (NextGen, FileMaker Pro, Rapid)
- Create and mail Notice of Intent documents using required shipping methods
- File liens electronically with court systems
- Update patient charts with current lien statuses
- Process lien satisfactions when accounts are paid
Quality Control
- Double-check all entered data for accuracy
- Follow detailed procedures for document organization
- Maintain daily logs of completed work
- Meet department accuracy standards
- Track and follow up on returned mail
Communication
- Handle basic phone calls and emails about lien status
- Coordinate with team members on rush requests
- Transfer complex inquiries to appropriate staff
- Maintain professional communication with all parties
Performance Goals
- Process 97% of liens within 90-day timeline
- Complete 95% of Notice of Intent documents by day 59
- Handle 100% of rush requests same-day
- Process 93% of paid lien satisfaction within 14-21 days
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong attention to detail
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Typing speed of 35 WPM
- Ability to follow detailed instructions
- Good organizational skills
- Reliable attendance record
Preferred Qualifications
- 6 months office experience
- Experience with data entry
- Basic understanding of medical terminology
- Familiarity with electronic filing systems
Work Environment
