Job Description
Repair Depot Supervisor
On behalf of our client, Procom Services is searching for a Repair Depot Supervisor for a permanent opportunity in Plattsburgh, NY. PLEASE NOTE: You will be required to spend 3 weeks in California and up to 6 weeks in Japan for training.
Repair Depot Supervisor Job Details
The supervisor will assume a leadership role in the establishment of a repair depot for currency handling devices. Following successful establishment of the repair depot will fill the role of a working supervisor responsible for overall repair depot processes, materials management, and ongoing compliance to applicable standards, repair depot quality and ongoing quality/process improvements.
- Working under the direction of Product Management, establish a repair depot in Plattsburgh, NY. The repair depot will be specific to the repair of currency handling products (currency dispensers, acceptors, recyclers).
- Working with Product Management, identify and achieve compliance with all applicable industry and customer repair depot standards / certifications, and other standards as required.
- Implement required software and associated tools to effectively track all incoming / outgoing materials, details of product defect(s), parts usage in the repair of product, and summary reports to effectively track issue patterns and initiate corrective active with Product management
- Complete required technical training and the occasional ongoing training in Japan as required to maintain current with product operations/features and engineering product revision levels.
- Assist in the development of all required documentation and test scripts.
- Assist in defining required discrete item inventory levels, and tracking material usage long-term.
- As time permits, assist in the repair of defective materials. For reference, description of repair technician activities includes problem isolation/identification and repair of mechanically complex currency handling equipment (acceptors, dispensers, recyclers).
- Repair units and updates to current engineering revision as defined by product management company. Repaired devices will be re-packaged / re-labeled for return to customer or refurbished material stock.
- Test software, perform requirement maintenance operations to identify device fault and apply appropriate level repair, retest repair item according to guidelines to assure device conformance to quality standards.
- Capture applicable device data log file(s) and make available to Product Management for analysis.
- Work with Product Management to identify and report reoccurring technical issues as ongoing efforts to effectively maintain a closed loop product quality control.
- Maintain proficiency on depot level repair test software as required to fully test and qualify proper currency handling device operations.
- Maintain ownership all repair depot test workstations and all special tools required to complete job function.
- Take ownership in work assignments to maintain highest quality and strive for continuously process and quality improvement.
- Testing and modification of the currency template file is repeated until the required level of product performance is achieved.
- Adhere to company policies, ISO requirements, 5S, safety, and quality workmanship
Repair Depot Supervisor Mandatory Skills

- Quality oriented
- Familiar with intricate electro-mechanical repairs to the piece part level, such as on cash handling devices, Xerox machines, complex high volume laser printers, etc.
- PCB troubleshooting experience to the component level and certified to perform led free soldering techniques with and understanding of ESD and RoHS requirements.
- An understanding of lubrication and cleaning requirements as dictated by the material composition.
- Able to work alone (not much supervision)
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university in manufacturing/mechanical/electrical engineering; or 3-5 years of directly related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A Certification
Demonstrate ability to effectively use computer and applicable computer software. Advanced knowledge of Excel, Word, Adobe, PowerPoint, and Outlook required.
Must be able and willing to travel (up to 10%) meeting and supporting customers and potential customers as required, both domestically and internationally. Willing to travel by plane to locations in other states/countries.
