Construction Litigation Attorney - Mid Level Associate

The Construction team at Procopio is looking for a mid level Construction Litigation Associate to join the group our Del Mar Heights office. This is an excellent opportunity to join a top tier practice at an AmLaw 200 Firm that provides substantial client contact, practice development, and professional growth opportunities.

The ideal candidate has been practicing law for 4-6 years, with the majority of that time spent in construction litigation. They should be well versed in Construction law (specifically construction schedule delay and disruption cases, contract breach, transactional contract drafting, public works, prevailing wage, public bidding laws, and the Public Contract Code and Civil Code as it pertains to construction law). Experience representing both contractors and owners/developers, in the construction arena, is a plus.

Candidate should have experience working in a private law firm and must be able to efficiently draft basic litigation documents including discovery requests and responses, meet and confer correspondence, motion and trial briefs, settlement agreements, client reports, etc. Our best candidates have experience in court and in taking and defending depositions. Trial experience is a plus.

This position requires California bar admission and California state litigation experience. The best candidates will have strong critical analytical and writing skills, a high level of attention to detail, and superior time management skills. Procopio’s Construction team has a very a team-oriented culture and requires dedication to professionalism and client relations. Typical salary range is from $175,000 to $250,000 depending on experience. We offer significant bonus opportunities for attorneys of all levels.
