The Materials Supply Management (MSM) Operations Leader owns supply assurance, supplier capability, and material savings for the Supply Chain(s)/Site(s). Owns the material execution plan in support of Initiatives and cost projects at the Site(s). This person also provides leadership for optimization projects, material changes, supplier capability, defect reduction or other projects in support of their Category MSM direction.
The Materials Supply Management Operations Leader accountable for material issues related to his/her Site(s)/Supply Chains and the interface point for the Manufacturing Site Material contact.
The MSM Operations Leader owns the Supply Base Assessment, overall SLEA, Supplier Scorecard action plans, and Supplier Capability to meet service, cost and inventory glide path in support of the overall Category Material Strategy.
The MSM Operations Leader primarily focuses on the optimization of their supply chain and the Supplier Capability Master plans. Also responsible for the training and development of the organization that reports to them if applicable.
- Provides direction and focus areas that link back to the business needs and Material Operating Strategy.
- Direction to create supplier operational strategy
- Leads development and execution of Supplier Capability Master Plan aligned with the Category Material Steering Team
- Provide Site/supply chain input on Materials to Initiatives and Lead the Material launch and change process and establish initial supplier capabilities.
- Input to Buyers as they develop Material Sourcing strategies and Business Continuity plans on critical materials. .
- Leads the Material Supply Chain Optimization for the Site/supply chain they own and those there direct reports own
- MSM Team Operational Excellence through the Global Standard work process
- Owns Site Level Execution Agreement process with suppliers
- Leads Material Results reviews for the Site including Root Cause Analysis for outages and action planning for improvements needed. Owner of the Operational Supplier Relationship
- Owns the Daily Management process process for MSM processes
Qualifications
The MSM Operations Leader is an experienced leader that owns overall operational results of a designated set of supply chains and has proven to drive improvements in those supply chains.
The MSM Operations Leader has experience in Strategic Material Supply, Material Supply Network Capability, Material Supply Network Optimization, and Material Launch and Change.
