Director of Leadership Giving/Major Gifts Officer
Proctor Academy is seeking a strategic, relationship-driven Director of Leadership Giving/Major Gifts Officer to join our Advancement Team at a time of exciting momentum. With a $2MM Annual Fund, $15MM raised towards capital support over the last 24 months, and the arrival of Head of School, Amy Smucker, this July, Proctor is poised for transformational growth.
This position will lead the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gifts, capital contributions, and planned giving across all phases of the donor cycle. With a portfolio of 100–125 high-capacity prospects, this role requires an entrepreneurial approach, a deep understanding of philanthropic strategy, and close collaboration with institutional leadership, trustees, and key stakeholders. This is an opportunity to make a significant impact at a school defined by innovation, community, and purpose.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of progressive responsibility in major gift fundraising; demonstrated success in closing multiple gifts of $50,000 or greater; proven track record of managing a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals; experience in capital campaign planning and execution; superior oral, listening, and written communication skills; and the ability to build and maintain relationships with high-net-worth individuals. A bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree and CFRE certification are preferred.
