What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Director, Procurement Services position at PROCUREMENT DEPARTMENT?
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized, accredited college or university in a relevant field of study; degree in business preferred;
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience required in procurement, and preferred in contracting, and supply chain operations;
- Minimum of two (2) years of current supervisory experience required;
- Possess working knowledge of bid process, contracts, warehouse inventory management, and buying techniques;
- Possess strong computer skills including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word and Excel;
- Possess leadership qualities necessary to supervise employees under his/her direction; and
- Possess strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Annual Contract: 250 days
SALARY:
$76,673 (BA 5)
Salary Range (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year 2016-2017
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Approve purchase requisitions and oversee the purchase order process, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
- Provide leadership for the daily activities/operations of the procurement staff.
- Maintain reports for expenditures of new schools, renovations, fixed/capital assets, and capital outlay.
- Support procurement operation for the opening of new facilities, renovations, and special projects.
- Supervise and evaluate assigned personnel.
- Maintain knowledge of current and new developments in procurement and contract negotiation/administration including laws, regulations, theories, best practices, and technology to implement sound business practices.
- Under the direction of the Director of Procurement Services, facilitates quality control by reviewing solicitation templates including terms and conditions.
- Assist the Director of Procurement Services in procedure and policy review and recommendations.
- Assist with managing complex acquisitions, scope preparation, and the review of contract terms and conditions for board agenda.
- Assist the Director of Procurement Services with strategic planning and internal process improvement to align with the district’s vision and mission.
- Provide assistance to the Director of Procurement Services with inventory catalog maintenance, specialized project buying, data collection/reporting, and other special projects as assigned.
- Serve as backup to the Director of Procurement Services on an as-needed basis.
- Perform related duties as assigned by the Director of Procurement Services or the Assistant Superintendent for Support Services.
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
