Senior AMDB & CMDB Technical Project Manager

Job Summary:

The Senior AMDB & CMDB Technical Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the Asset Management Database (AMDB) and Configuration Management Database (CMDB) to ensure they deliver business value and adhere to organizational policies. This role involves leading the design, development, and implementation of asset and configuration management processes, tools, and integrations. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) principles, experience with Service Integration and Management (SIAM) models, and familiarity with various technologies, including Microsoft App Virtualization, VMware, and cloud technologies. The Senior Project Manager will also be responsible for conducting audits, maintaining asset databases, generating reports, and collaborating with various teams to ensure accurate configuration data and effective asset management practices.

Responsibilities:

• Manage AMDB & CMDB:
  • Oversee the Asset Management Database (AMDB) and Configuration Management Database (CMDB) to ensure business value and policy adherence.
• Lead CMDB Delivery:
  • Evaluate existing tools and design.
  • Drive the development of new features to improve compliance, efficiency, and effectiveness.
• Deploy Asset Management Processes:
  • Implement asset management processes and procedures from the ground up in a startup environment to achieve basic maturity in SACM (Service Asset and Configuration Management).
• Conduct Audits:
  • Perform PAV (Physical Asset Verification) & CMDB audits periodically to ensure accurate configuration data, reducing risk and business impact.
• Maintain Asset Database:
  • Keep an updated online database for both hardware and software assets.
• Technology Familiarity:
  • Be familiar with technologies like Microsoft App Virtualization, VMware, and cloud technologies.
• Service Integration and Management (SIAM):
  • Experience working in SIAM mode.
• IT Service Management (ITSM):
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of ITSM processes (ITIL).
• Integration Implementation:
  • Implement integrations across service management platforms and discovery tools.
• Support and Maintenance:
  • Track Asset Management Database: Support, develop, maintain, and update the Asset Register for information security, ITSM procedures, compliance, ISO audit, risk management, and mitigation.
  • Verify CMDB: Ensure CMDB accuracy after every IMAC (Install, Move, Add, Change) and change activity.
  • Monthly Reports: Generate monthly MIS (Management Information System) reports on asset management.
  • End of Life Updates: Inform customers about the end-of-life period for assets.
  • Asset Audits: Conduct internal and external asset audits and reporting.
  • Follow Procedures: Adhere to defined procedures for asset management.
  • Spare Management: Maintain inventory of spare parts.
  • AMC/Warranty Tracking: Track AMC (Annual Maintenance Contract) and warranty details.
  • Software License Management: Manage software licenses.
  • ITAM Tool Deployment: Deploy ITAM (IT Asset Management) tools for CI (Configuration Item) tracking, monitoring, and updating.
• Leadership and Collaboration:
  • Problem Resolution: Lead and provide guidance for problem-related issues across the client's service, addressing issues promptly to avoid impact.
  • Policy and Process Collaboration: Work with hardware and software teams to create, review, and update asset and configuration management policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Scope Definition: Identify and define the scope of asset and configuration management processes, functions, controlled items, and recorded information.
  • Strategy Development: Develop strategies and implement best practice frameworks for measuring, improving, monitoring, and reporting against SLA (Service Level Agreement) and KPI (Key Performance Indicator).
  • Reporting: Provide KPI/metric information and standardized reporting on a scheduled and unscheduled basis as required by management.
  • Meeting Participation: Participate in and facilitate meetings as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Information Technology, Computer Science).
• Proven experience in IT asset management and configuration management.
• Strong understanding of ITIL framework and ITSM processes.
• Experience with CMDB and ITAM tools.
• Familiarity with Microsoft App Virtualization, VMware, and cloud technologies.
• Experience working in a SIAM environment.
