Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Systems Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. This position will work directly with customers and partners providing expertise in hardware and software installations, troubleshooting and configuration recommendations for complex systems and structures. This role requires a strong understanding of various operating systems, cloud services, and system architecture. The Systems Administrator will play a critical role in supporting our development teams and enhancing our operational efficiency. This is a senior position that is very hands on and will need to balance the pressures of solving and supporting advanced level technical issues with clients and escalations among the internal Prodigy team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Honest, self-motivated, professional, team player and the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Exceptional customer service skills, organizational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Prioritizing multiple tasks in high pressure situations
  • Must be able to diagnose problems quickly and correctly with computer systems and introduce a resolution
  • Provides advanced level installation, support, and maintenance of physical and virtual servers, core infrastructure (switching, routing, firewall) and other computer systems
  • Provide highest level escalation helpdesk support and resolve problems to the end user's satisfaction
  • Plans and coordinates system utilization, and performs growth analysis and capacity planning
  • Provides installation, support, and maintenance of servers and other computer systems
  • Efficiently manages configuration of desktops, servers and services (IIS, e-mail, AD, DNS, etc.)
  • Assists with planning for and responding to service outages and other problems (SLE's)
  • Coordinates with CTO regarding hiring process and vetting
  • Creates documentation and SOPs for Operations team and improvement of internal processes
  • Will be responsible for taking calls on an On-Call rotation
  • Execute other assigned tasks as delegated by Management
  • Travel to customers offices when needed (reliable transportation is required). Mileage will be reimbursed accordingly
  • Punctuality is required

Job Type: Full Time

Required education:

  • BS or MS degree in IT, Computer Science or related field
  • License/Certification: MCSE, MCITP, CCNA, CCNP, VCP

Required experience:

  • 10 yrs. plus experience as a Systems Administrator or Server Engineer
  • Enterprise level Networking Experience / Advanced Switching & Routing troubleshooting – configuration and administration
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2016 or later
  • Microsoft Windows Server Roles: AD, DNS, DHCP, DFS, IIS, GPO
  • Advanced PowerShell knowledge
  • Advanced VoIP / SIP configuration and support
  • Exchange 2016 or later
  • Advanced Office 365 Administration
  • Microsoft Azure, Entra ID, and Microsoft Endpoint Management Administration - Strong implementation & support knowledge
  • Microsoft Intune or SCCM - Strong implementation & support knowledge
  • Advanced Firewall Configuration (Cisco Meraki is a plus)
  • Networking Experience
  • Strong Performance analysis and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Spam Filter technologies
  • Hands on equipment experience (rack, and stack, physical wiring)
