A leader and pillar of the fresh produce industry has a terrific opportunity for a Director of Sales - West to lead, manage, mentor, and coach a dynamic Sales Team. This key role is crucial to the company's sales strategy. The Director will be tasked with driving performance, fostering a high-performing team culture, and ensuring the achievement of sales goals. The role will also be responsible for customer contract negotiations, collaboration with internal teams, and alignment of sales efforts with production and harvesting to ensure customers receive the highest quality product on time.
Position is based in the greater Central Coast region of California and is based in-office. A remote or remote / hybrid option is not available.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead, manage, and mentor a high-performing Sales Team of five direct reports.
- Set clear sales goals and objectives for the team, and ensure these goals are consistently met.
- Lead and manage customer contract negotiations, ensuring favorable terms for both the company and their customers.
- Collaborate with the production and harvesting teams to obtain real-time information regarding product quality and supply, and communicate this information to the Sales Team to ensure alignment.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase sales, enhance customer satisfaction, and grow the customer base.
- Track and analyze sales performance data, identifying areas for improvement and growth.
- Foster a collaborative, results-driven environment where team members are encouraged to grow, learn, and succeed.
- Maintain strong relationships with key customers and industry partners.
- Ensure that the Sales Team is fully equipped with the necessary tools, training, and resources to excel in their roles.
- Participate in the annual budgeting and ongoing planning processes.

The base salary they reasonably expect to pay for this role is : $125,000 - $195,000 / year. The actual salary for this role will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. Please note that base pay is one important aspect of a compelling Total Rewards package. The base pay range indicated here does not include any additional benefits or cash bonuses the position may be eligible for based on the role and / or employment type.
