What are the responsibilities and job description for the Diesel Technician position at Producers Dairy Foods Inc?
Position Responsibilities:
To be a successful Diesel Technician I you will need:
- Approach work with a Continuous Improvement (CI) mindset and serving as an example of living our Producers Dairy purpose and core values.
- Conduct activities in a safe manner, following company safety guidelines and requirements and proactively addresses any unsafe conditions observed.
- Determine nature of needed repairs for company tractors and trailers through accurate troubleshooting.
- Work with the fleet supervisor to properly prioritize work and complete within appropriate timelines.
- Adjust valves according to specifications and charge system with proper type of refrigerant by pumping the specified gas or fluid into the system.
- Test lines, components, and connections for leaks.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed
- Repair and maintain Mechanical Equipment — Servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines, devices, moving parts, and equipment that operate primarily based on mechanical principles.
- Make safety a top priority – properly manages time and prepares for jobs to work in a safe manner. Asks for help when needed.
- Maintain appropriate dress, hygiene, and personal appearance standards so as to represent the department and the Company in a positive and professional manner.
- Other administrative tasks as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements (Qualifications and Skills)
To be a successful Diesel Technician I you will need:
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Demonstrated organization and accuracy skills; self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple projects/tasks with competing deadlines.
- Must demonstrate the ability to solve problems, accept constructive feedback and show flexibility should priorities and/or deadlines change.
- Excellent verbal and written skills and a high degree of emotional intelligence.
- Must be able to build productive relationships across all levels of an organization.
- 2 years of experience on Diesel Truck and Tractor Repair.
Preferred:
- ASE Certification T8
Hourly Range: $30.59 - $33.99
