- We are seeking a strategic leader to serve as the company Chief Financial Officer CFO in Durham, North Carolina. We are a manufacturing company with a strong R&D team. Our products are used worldwide for quality control and inspection.
The successful candidate will be responsible for financial management, financial reporting, compliance, leadership, guiding financial strategy, planning, and maintaining company’s fiscal stability. The CFO will be involved in full collaboration with the executive management team to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans, and policies.
To qualify for this position, we require the candidate to have a BS degree in accounting, finance or equivalent (MBA preferred) with five plus years of experience in senior financial managerial role. Experience with ERP programs and familiarity with organizations conducting research, development and manufacturing is a key requirement. Professional accreditation such as CPA is a plus.

Primary Responsibilities :
Oversee all accounting functions for the companyReview and implement accounting standards, internal policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAPDrive process improvements and efficiency gains in accounting operationsFinancial analysis of accounting reports, financial statements, taxes, and other financial reports.Execute month-end closings, financial forecasts, budgetary controls, cost accounting, audits, and reportingManage and mentor all accounting staff, creating a culture of excellence and continuous learningLead the monthly and year-end close process, ensuring all financial activities are accurately recorded and reportedContinually assess and improve financial reporting and closing processes to enhance controls, efficiency, accuracy, and transparencyManage monthly and quarterly reconciliations to ensure accurate and timely reportingServe as point of contact for external tax agency(s)Oversee and manage sales and tax reporting calculation and commission reporting for salesOversee cash management, positive pay, ACH approvals, bank covenantsAbility to read and analyze sales and vendor documents and contractsView daily bank account balances online and notify staff to post payments from customers.Analyze and sign off on all invoices for paymentCreate and prepare annual budgets in the accounting systemPrepare and analyze monthly Balance Sheet and Income StatementCompliance for tax, legal, state, and federal issuesProcess journal entries into accounting systemAudit monthly financial reports for review by managementBank Liaison for all banking transactions including wire transfers, stop payments, and credit linesProcess monthly journal entries for paying down credit lines and mortgagesManage process to transmit deposits to the bank as neededManage all credit card accounts online (add / cancel cards, monitor spending, code monthly bills)Create 1099-Misc tax forms for Service ProvidersReview financial information on other companies for potential acquisitions that the owner might be interested inInternal Auditing of vehicles, cell phones, computers, various assetsWork with outside CPA consultant to gather info for annual tax prep and send them the info they need for the annual taxesPrepare all material for internal and external audits, analyze informationAny other accounting related tasks, projects, assignments that a Controller would handleQualifications / Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

Accounting Manager and leadership experience in production environmentBachelor's degree in Accounting or related fieldCPA certification strongly preferredFamiliarity with organizations conducting research, development and manufacturing is a key requirement10 plus years of experience in accounting roles, with a background in AR / AP and inventory management5 plus years of experience in senior financial managerial role.Strong background in financial analysisStrong knowledge of GAAPProficiency in Excel, with the ability to manipulate data and migrate between ERP systemsExperience using an ERP systemPhysical Requirements
