Software Engineering Manager

We are seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers developing robotics software for a wide range of applications. You will work with cross-functional teams to help build processes and communicate challenges and progress while providing technical and professional mentorship to the engineering staff to ensure project completion and career growth. We believe that to be an effective manager, it is necessary to be involved in the day-to-day technical project challenges. To that end, you will design, implement, tune, and test robotics software and algorithms. 

Responsibilities 

• Manage and mentor a team of software engineers developing robotics software 
• Monitor tasks and remove roadblocks for the team 
• Track deadlines and communicate progress to the broader management team 
• Build processes to help improve development efficiency 
• Recruit new engineers and ensure smooth onboarding 
• Develop software for robotics applications 
  
  

Qualifications 

• Bachelor, master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics, Software Engineering or related discipline.
• 5 – 10 years' experience in software development 
• 2 years' experience leading software teams 
• Excellent proficiency in software development using C and Python 
• Experience writing multithreaded robotics software applications 
• Appreciates good software design process  
• Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain/teach technical concepts to others.
