Paid Internships at Production Resource Group are educational work experiences for individuals who wish to explore a career with PRG and/or develop hands-on knowledge and skill in the business of entertainment technology. PRG provides structured yet flexible programs where interns rotate through the various functions of a particular discipline, giving them a comprehensive overview of the different aspects of the field.
The internship program is 12 weeks. The Summer Program runs approximately *Mid to late May- Beg/Mid-August (*dates may vary)
Each Shop Operations Fulfillment PRG intern will:
- Gain invaluable hands-on experience with both the technical and business operations of our branch, providing a comprehensive understanding of how our company functions at a core level.
- Acquire knowledge of the sales process, including the various ways we build and maintain partnerships with our customers, enhancing your commercial acumen.
- Shadow our PRG Quality Control (QC) personnel through the QC process, gaining insights into the meticulous standards and practices that ensure our services meet the highest quality benchmarks.
- Obtain a thorough understanding of how our Operations Managers and Supervisors orchestrate workflow and delegate responsibilities to ensure flawless show execution, enhancing your leadership and management skills.
- Delve into the basics of Audio-Visual production, covering essential principles such as camera signal flow, audio and RF processing, lighting/LED control, and the fundamentals of projection, preparing you for effective show execution.
- Learn to efficiently scan and organize various cable types for both stock and show purposes, enhancing your organizational skills and technical knowledge.
- Apply basic quality control standards as set forth by PRG, ensuring the excellence and reliability of our products and services.
- Get hands-on learning experience with PRG’s Sale/Asset Management system, TEAM, gaining valuable skills in asset management and operational efficiency.
- Understand the workings of PRG’s Transfer system, enhancing your logistical and operational skills.
- Participate in ride-alongs with our drivers for deliveries and pickups, offering a practical perspective on the logistics and customer service that drive our success.
Qualifications
We are looking for applicants who:
- May perform other incidental tasks, as needed.
- All applicants must be eligible to work in the country where the internship is located.
- For internships in the US, students must pass a drug test prior to employment.
We are looking for applicants who match ANY of the following:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or higher-level degree program in theatre or entertainment
- Technology specializing in any of our disciplines or a complementary field
- Have received an appropriate degree within the past two years
- Have appropriate background in the entertainment technology industry
Physical demands
- Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time
