Summary/objective
The Team Leader I is primarily responsible for the upkeep, quality, output, and accuracy of equipment processed by the assigned department
Supervisory responsibilities
- Coordination of team members within assigned department and shift
Essential functions
- Directly supervise shop employees in work tasks to verify and ensure conformance to specifications, drawings, procedures, and quality, schedule
- Monitor and support all shop projects maintaining high quality, on time delivery, safety, and staying within budget.
- Provide safety, equipment operation and procedural training to fabrication shop staff, as needed.
- Timely and effectively resolving problems and documenting the issues in an organized and detailed manner.
- Able to work before and after regular business hours with or without notice
- Able to work on weekends with or without notice
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Work well under hard deadlines; ability to plan department workflow accordingly
- Solid understanding of department production equipment and functionality
- 5 years of experience working with your assigned disciplines equipment (scenic shop or jobsite as a lead or supervisor, scenic construction projects, or equivalent experience in related field)
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
- Strong ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve in a time-sensitive production environment

Physical demands
- Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-50Ibs, occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 Ibs

- Specific vision abilities for this job may include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus, with or without the use of glasses or contact lenses
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to follow spots and moving lights, loud noises, fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration
- May be required to operate motor vehicles and load/unload trucks

Required education and experience
- Computer knowledge (Microsoft Office Suite)
- 5 years of applicable experience
