Products Unlimited, Inc., a leading manufacturer of bonded polyester fiber products used in commercial insulation and filtration applications.
The Production Line Operator performs in a lead capacity to train, motivate and direct the work of production laborers while operating machinery and producing superior filtration products. The Operator is responsible for meeting quality, product, and customer specifications.
TRAIN 1ST SHIFT 6AM - 4PM / ONCE TRAINED 2ND SHIFT 10AM - 8PM
PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG SCREENING REQUIRED
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Quality Control – Decisions to send product to customers are made by Operator. When Production Manager is unavailable, the Operator decides if product passes quality.
- Cleanliness – Operator assures employees keep area at back of line clean.
- Act as liaison between management, maintenance, and the production team.
- Motivate workers to perform to the best of their abilities, and lead by example.
- Review and process productions sheets and other reports related to paperwork as required by The Company and each customer’s order.
- Assure errors and/or corrections are reported to the shift supervisor and operator immediately and make corrections.
- Work as part of the production team and ensures that the quality requirements meet or beat the customer’s specifications.
- Meet customer order specifications within tolerances set, and report problems to maintenance and management.
- Correct deviations to customer’s standards immediately and segregate or scrap questionable product.
- Maintain a disciplined and safe working environment, assuring work areas are kept clean and orderly and employees are following company safety policies.
- Apply principles of logical thinking to a wide range of practical problems, and deal with production variables.
- Recommend solutions and improvements to quality and processes and solve problems.
- Ensure and enforce compliance with company policies, procedures, work rules, safety practices.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Read, write, and speak English competently.
- Possess High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
- Perform basic mathematical equations.
- Read, analyze and interpret complex documents relating to Manufacturing.
- Computer aptitude and skills.
- Prior Leadership experience and willingness to lead by example.
- Adjust to multiple demands, shifting work priorities, adversity and change.
- Understanding of line processes, procedures and equipment.
- Show attention to details.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
