We are seeking a Purchasing/Costing Manager to oversee purchasing activities and ensure that the purchased items are both cost-efficient and of high quality. The Purchasing/Costing Manager’s responsibilities include developing purchasing strategies, maintaining positive relationships with suppliers, coordinating with internal teams regarding their supply needs, and overseeing the inventory activities.
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing and managing an organization's procurement activities.
- Ensuring the acquisition of necessary goods and services of the right quality, quantity, and price.
- Sourcing suppliers, negotiating prices, managing contracts, ensuring timely delivery of goods
- Conduct market research to identify pricing trends
- Work with team members to complete duties as needed
- Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
- Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking
- Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand
- Negotiate and secure blanket contracts for raw materials and utilities, such as natural gas.
Additional Expectations: Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Proven working experience as a Purchasing Manager or in a similar role
- Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management
- A knack for negotiation and networking
- Working experience with SAP Business One
- Ability to gather and analyze data and to work with figures
- Solid judgement along with decision making skills
- Strong leadership capabilities
- BS degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration, accounting
- Must be able to travel
