Job Responsibilities:
- Manage complex, high-risk, high visibility, strategically aligned initiatives to successful completion. Utilize the appropriate project management methodology.
- Demonstrate effective stakeholder management. Provide communication for intended audiences including timely risk awareness, progress updates, and results to the stakeholders and business unit(s).
- Manage activities with outside vendors to ensure timely delivery and expected results of systems and services. Proactively manage the vendor relationships. Participate in negotiations, procurement, and contract administration activities.
- Identify and mitigate interrelated risks across program. Identify, communicate, and manage required changes to the organization and provide proper reinforcement to assure success. Balance competing demands.
- Utilize problem-solving techniques to present clear problem definition and provide potential solutions and workarounds with impacts, including cost/benefit analysis. Partner with leaders to get consensus on direction.
- Responsible for managing a complex migration and responsible for overseeing testing across a large group of business areas,.
- Help manage dependencies across our business areas.
Qualifications:
- Must have proven, basic understanding and application of project scope, cost, and time management as well as other project management disciplines such as quality and risk control, communication, and HR management and integration.
- 8 years project, program, initiative management experience or equivalent demonstrated through one or combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, or education.
- Must possess excellent leadership, communication, planning, decision making, and negotiation skills.
- Must be able to work with people at all levels, including outside consultants and vendors, and influence others without formal authority.
- Must be able to build and maintain relationships and facilitate collaboration and communication.
- Must be results-oriented and able to adapt and deal with ambiguous situations and manage expectations.
- Must be able to operate effectively in a matrix management environment.
- Must have an understanding of information technology capabilities and applications to identify opportunities for business process improvement.
- Must have knowledge of PC and project planning oriented software.
- Must have or be able to obtain a broad understanding of products and services involved in the project.
- May be on-call for job responsibilities. Additional Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience leading large-scale migration initiatives preferred, with heavy emphasis on testing.
- Experience negotiating and leading initiatives working with third party partners preferred.
