JOB TITLE: Accounting Financial Analyst FLSA STATUS: Exempt
SUPERVISOR’S TITLE: Controller
General Summary: As an Accounting Financial Analyst, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health of our organization. You will be responsible for conducting financial analysis, preparing and maintaining financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Conducts financial modeling, tying operational data and performance to the profit and loss statement.
- Creates financial models based on analysis to support organizational decision making.
- Reviews complex financial accounting work processes, systems, and procedures for efficient workflow and conformity with accounting principles.
- Assesses industry trends and problem situations to identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions, and make recommendations and/or resolve the problem.
- Performs technical research and interprets relevant accounting guidance to ensure proper accounting treatment in accordance with company policy and current accounting standards.
- Performs financial and accounting functions including but not limited to budgeting, forecasting, cash management, accounts payable/receivable, taxes, and bank reconciliation.
- Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
- Maintains the general ledger.
- Completes month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis of various general ledger accounts.
- Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and address inquiries from banks.
- Reconciles cash disbursements accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts.
- Assists external auditors in performance of annual financial audit.
- Assists external tax preparers to file appropriate tax forms with federal, state, and local governmental agencies.
- Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Accuracy in accounting with attention to detail.

- Strong knowledge of accounting principals and regulations.
- Ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles and regulations.
- Ability to communicate findings effectively both to peers and leadership.

- Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, accounting software or other related programs.
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. At least 3-5 years' accounting experience required.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 10-15 lbs. Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
Working Conditions: Standard in-office setting.
