JOB TITLE: Digital Marketing and Social Media Specialist FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
SUPERVISOR’S TITLE: VP of Sales and Operations
General Summary:
Looking to make an impact and build something new? As the Digital Marketing and Social Media Intern, you will have the opportunity to build the brand and social media presence for a new and growing organization. You will coordinate and execute aspects of the digital marketing and social media initiatives and content for ProEgg Cooperative under the direction of the VP of Sales and Operations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Creates relevant digital content for both ProEgg’s LinkedIn and Facebook pages.
- Develops 8-10 approved posts each month using content appropriate to each of the abovementioned platforms.
- Updates content on ProEgg’s website as necessary.
- Collects and reports on search engine and web traffic analytics. Studies trends by reviewing search engine optimization (SEO), marketing, and sales performance metrics.
- Identifies and monitors audience’s preferences and recommends new content/messaging.
- Maintains knowledge of developments, trends, and best practices in digital marketing.
- Accurately maintains social media accounts to ensure company information is correct.
- Communicates effectively with sales, supply chain, and accounting departments.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient in most digital platforms with a strong ability to navigate LinkedIn, and Facebook.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and similar related software.
- Thorough knowledge of web design and HTML.
- Excellence in copywriting and copyediting; High-level of written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of website analytics tools, search engine algorithms, and ranking factors.
- Ability to optimize search engine keyword searches.
- The ability to develop the right tone for each social media platform.
- The ability to build and sustain social media communities.
- Capable of working independently and maintaining a high level of integrity.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent required. College enrolled student seeking a bachelor’s or associate degree in digital marketing or social media.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 10-15 lbs. Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
Working Conditions: Standard in-office setting. Computer work. Anticipated hours: 10-20 hours per month.
