Accounts Payable Specialist - Temp to Perm

Proenza Schouler is looking for a temporary to permanent Accounts Payable Specialist to perform accounting and clerical tasks related to the maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions. This includes invoice and payment processing, vendor payment inquiries, vendor reconciliations and month end closing activities.

Responsibilities:

• Perform full-cycle AP workflow from timely and accurate processing of incoming AP invoices; this includes 3-way matching, coding and data entry.
• Reconcile vendor statements, handling communications with vendors, and maintain strong vendor relationships.
• Process weekly payment run for checks, ACH, and wire transfers.
• Process vendor invoices through automated AP system (Concur), ensuring all amounts, vendors, GL accounts and departments are accurate for synchronization into accounting GL system (RLM accounting software) and obtaining relevant approvals from managers.
• Analyze and consolidate expense data from Concur and enter data by department and expense type into company accounting software.
• Train and assist co-workers on how to use CONCUR including Travel and Expense system.
• Set up payment templates for new vendors in online banking system.
• Set up payments (wire, ACH, check) for vendors on a weekly basis.
• Manage AP aging schedule in the GL system (RLM accounting software) and ensure timely payment remittance.
• Coordinate with co-workers to ensure proper procedures are followed for new vendors.
• Collect and organize all relevant documentation for new vendors including tax forms and payment instructions.
• Propose process improvements and best practices.
• Fedex/DHL transactions.
• Credit card and auto payments.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Assist with month end accruals.
• Month End close.

Qualifications:

• Must have 2-4 years experience in an AP department
• Strong Excel Skills
• Experience with RLM Accounting Software
• Experience with Concur System
• Apparel industry experience a plus
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Must have strong interpersonal skills
• Highly organized and efficient

The targeted base salary range for this role is $52,000-$57,000. Actual salary offered may be outside of this range based on factors such as, relevant skills, qualifications, and experience. This role is also eligible for additional benefits including an annual performance-based incentive program and a seasonal clothing allowance. This role is temporary to permanent.
