Team Lead – (Employee Benefits)
Location: Texas (Hybrid – must be comfortable with travel between offices in Houston, Austin, and San Antonio). Our client is seeking an experienced Team Lead to join their Employee Benefits team. This individual will manage a portfolio of clients across the Houston, Austin, and San Antonio regions, driving growth and leading a service team to address client needs. A key focus will be maintaining strong organizational skills, proactive client service, and resolving healthcare and insurance benefits issues. This position requires occasional travel and offers a hybrid work schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
· Client Management: Oversee a book of business, assist in developing new client relationships, and foster growth opportunities.
· Collaboration: Work closely with Producers to design, implement, and manage employee benefits programs for mid-market employers.
· Vendor & Carrier Coordination: Work with vendors, carriers, and providers to resolve escalated claims and benefit-related issues.
· Benchmarking & Recommendations: Use internal and external resources to assess clients’ benefit programs and make data-driven recommendations.
· RFP Management: Lead the Request for Proposal (RFP) process, including compiling data, reviewing proposals, and negotiating terms.
· Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate preparation of client utilization and renewal reports.
· Compliance & Best Practices: Keep clients compliant with benefits regulations, including staying updated on legislative changes.
· Team Leadership: Oversee and support the service team’s use of agency management systems and ensure vendor service level agreements are met.
· Client Education: Conduct client open enrollment meetings and provide support with benefit coverage questions.
· Process Improvement: Contribute to refining internal processes, documentation, and record-keeping.

Required Qualifications:
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
· Experience: 8 years in employee benefits, preferably within a broker environment.
· Expertise: Deep knowledge of employee benefits, including health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, COBRA, and related programs.
· Licenses: Active Life and Health Insurance License.
