Health & Safety Analyst
6-month temp; flexible hourly
DT Houston; hybrid and 9 / 80 work schedule
Responsible for the in-depth analysis, development of analytic tools such as dashboards and visualizations, development of reporting tools, and overall management for health and safety data
Company will administer an exam to evaluate Python and SQL skills
Duties :
Implement safe work practices and participate in proactive safety culture while ensuring safety for the employee, the public, and the environment at all times
Interpret data, analyzing results using statistical techniques
Develop and implement data analyses, data collection systems, and other strategies optimizing statistical efficiency and quality
Secure data from data sources and maintain databases / data systems
Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
Filter and “clean” data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems
Prepare reports and analysis for internal teams, external clients, and / or stakeholders
Work with management to prioritize business and information needs
Collaborate with team members to collect and analyze data
Visualize data with graphs, infographics, and other methods
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, or related field
5 years proven working experience as a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst
Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining, and segmentation techniques
Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc.), databases (SQL etc.), programming (XML, JavaScript, or ETL frameworks)
Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc.)
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
Adept at queries, report writing and presenting finding
Ability to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment; flexible with the demands of a growing company
Analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines
Preferred – oil and gas experience including safety requirements and practices; 10 years as a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst; coding skills and language in Python; knowledge e of Intelex V6, Snowflake, Spotfire, Tableau and / or PowerBI software, MS SharePoint, Forms, and Power Automate, and AI software and data management
Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc.), databases (SQL etc.), programming (XML, JavaScript, or ETL frameworks)
