Job Summary: We are actively seeking dedicated and experienced Touring Truck Drivers for both year-round and seasonal positions. This role involves extensive travel with minimal home time, transporting equipment and materials to various event locations nationwide. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe loading, unloading, and transportation of goods, as well as assisting with production duties and equipment maintenance. This position reports directly to the Logistics Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transportation: Safely operate company trucks to transport equipment and materials to designated event locations across the country, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Loading and Unloading: Efficiently load and unload equipment, ensuring all items are properly secured and handled with care to prevent damage.
- Production Assistance: Collaborate with the production team to set up and dismantle equipment at event sites, contributing to the overall success of each event.
- Equipment Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and perform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Compliance: Maintain accurate records of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle inspections in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with the Logistics Manager and other team members to coordinate schedules, report issues, and ensure timely deliveries.
Compensation:
- Base Pay: A competitive base wage will be provided.
- Mileage Pay: An additional mileage rate will be paid for all miles driven on designated routes only.
As a 1099 independent contractor, the driver will be responsible for managing their own taxes and benefits.
Requirements:
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience as a Class A CDL driver, preferably in a touring or event production environment.
- Licensing: Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record.
- Skills: Proficiency in vehicle maintenance, load securing, and basic mechanical repairs.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to handle physical workload, including lifting and moving heavy equipment.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with extended periods away from home.
- Professionalism: Ability to interact professionally with high-level clients and sponsors.
- Team Player: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to work well with others and respect coworkers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in event production or a related field.
- Familiarity with electronic logging devices and GPS navigation systems.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to transportation and equipment handling.
Additional Requirements:
- Drug and Alcohol Testing: Candidates will be subject to an initial drug screening and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check, as well as random drug tests in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
