We’re searching for candidates who are experienced within the Structured Cabling industry utilizing BICSI, NEC, and industry standards. BICSI and manufacturer certifications are great, we also provide OSHA 30 training and certification paid for by PCS.
Position Overview
The individual in this position shall be required to perform various duties such as but not limited too; manage all phases of system installation, cable, equipment, programming, testing, troubleshooting, and training. This does include the installation, service, programming and training of IP based systems that involve utilizing consumer IP networks or dedicated security IP network. Solutions oriented and attention to detail are critical. Applicants must pass a background investigation, be able to work in both office and outside environments, climb a ladder, and carry boxes weighing 50lbs. and may work independently or within a team. Professional Cabling Solutions is a Drug Free workplace. Candidates must pass a drug screening.
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform installations as directed by Management or Project Manager/Estimator and per the manufacturer’s guidelines.
- Accept and follow direction from Management or Project Manager/Estimator.
- Other specific duties as directed by Management or Project Manager/Estimator.
- Interact with coworkers, office staff, contractors, and customers on a professional level.
- Manage the job site and technicians.
- Provide feedback, training, and guidance to technicians.
- Install projects to codes, standards, and legal regulations required.
- Work with manufacturer certification programs and know the requirements for certified installations.
- Adhere to all company safety, appearance, and demeanor guidelines.
- Maintain and adhere to safe work procedures in all circumstances to include working on lifts and ladders.
- Follow all customer policies and safety compliance rules while on the job site.
- Orderly workflow/worksite and good housekeeping a must
- Read / Acknowledge Understanding of Toolbox Talks. Deliver information in Toolbox Talks/Safety Meetings
- Adhere to all company policies, practices, and procedures.
Qualifications
- A Master level Access Control Technician who has run a successful team and still enjoys rolling up their sleeves and doing the work
- Must have an understanding of how low voltage systems come together from start-up to completion
- Hands on experience with Access Control and Video systems is required
- Hold a High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
- OSHA 30 Certification – Must be able to attend and pass the OSHA 30 class to gain certification. Paid for by PCS.
- Valid Driver’s license required, safe driving record and reliable transportation.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
- Must have a collaborative work ethic
- Be comfortable wiring a single door access system solo and training both the customer and your team to get analytics cameras installed
- Real experience running a team and working solo on commercial installs
- Understanding networks
- Must be able to get along with all types of personalties
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Basic computer and smart phone skills needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
