PCSI is looking for an Environmental/Safety Manager for the Charleston Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC). The Environmental/Safety Manager develops and oversees the site environmental and safety plan and ensures compliance with regulations on a team providing a variety of services, to include facility maintenance, food service, and janitorial/grounds maintenance.
This position is part of an upcoming opportunity in Charleston, SC, pending award and contract start.

What You'll Do as Environmental/Safety Manager:
- Determine criteria and methods needed to manage effective health, safety, & environmental processes.
- Work with Operations to standardize and implement procedures based on customer requirements and any applicable regulatory requirements.
- Measure, monitor, & analyze processes and implement actions necessary to meet goals and drive continuous improvement.
- Provide required data to support management review efforts at both the site and corporate levels.
- Under the direction of the Project Manager, coordinate with customers and corporate to ensure contractual, corporate, and/or regulatory requirements are implemented throughout operations.
- Collaborates with the Project Manager to ensure that deliverables are performed to an acceptable quality level.
- Provide direction and supervision to direct reports. Pursue training opportunities to ensure training requirements are met.
- Provide training to onsite employees to improve the quality of service and customer satisfaction.
- Comply with the site safety and environmental program, to include conducting monthly safety and environmental meetings, required safety and environmental training, and hazard inspections/assessments.
- Receives, reports, and investigates all employee work related accidents and incidents. Investigation includes the determination of the root cause and any associated preventive or corrective actions.
- Responsible for environmental compliance in accordance with the site contract, to include managing the site environmental program, conducting environmental site assessments and facility inspections, and hazardous waste control.
- Report any instances of non-compliance with regulatory or contract standards to the Project Manager and work to resolve issues.

What You'll Need to Be Successful:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree required, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum five (5) years experience managing compliance with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Occupational Safety/Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
- Must be able to complete Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) Building Inspector training and Hazardous Waste Site Operation training within 6 months of hire.
- Government and/or DOD experience desired.
- Experience in an environment that includes workers with disabilities preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Requires knowledge of PC functions and software, including operation of windows applications, MS Word, MS Excel, and related applications.
- Must have the ability to effectively read, write, and speak the English language.
- Demonstrated skills in leading health, safety, & environmental plan implementation, with a focus on complying with the standards outlined in the contract or statement of work.
- Experienced in root cause analysis, data analysis, preventive/corrective action.
- Willingness to delegate authority when needed.
- Ability and willingness to exert disciplinary action as needed.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to pass criminal, drug, and driving screening.
- Ability to work outside in inclement weather as needed and be exposed to various dirt, debris, and odors.
- Ability to work any time or day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to travel 5-15% domestically.
- Possess valid driver’s license and maintain good driving record.
- If required, ability to obtain and maintain security clearance and base access to assigned site(s).
