PEC's Municipal Transportation team provides a multitude of services including transportation planning, roadway and bridge design, traffic engineering and construction administration. Position Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform advanced professional work related to variety of planning assignments.
- Provide professional planning assistance to a variety of clients on a range of project types.
- Carryout the planning process for various scales of projects.
- Provide technical writing and quantitative analysis.
- Prepare and submit grant and funding applications.
- Coordinate with clients and other professional disciplines on individual projects.
- Schedule, prepare, attend, and conduct meetings with the public, stakeholder groups, advisory boards, and elected officials.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in planning or related field is required, masters preferred.
- Three years of professional planning experience required with previous consulting experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ESRI ArcGIS is required.
- Demonstrated experience with Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs) operations, regulations, and dynamics.
- Familiarity with current transportation planning initiatives – Vision Zero, IIJA, KDOT’s IKE Program, Justice 40, performance-based planning, and general transportation planning industry trends.
- American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification is highly desirable.
- Possess strong public speaking, interpersonal communication, and writing skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision to meet tight deadlines in a team environment.
