Position Overview: We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented optometric technician to help with providing eye care services. This role requires excellent organizational skills, a strong customer service focus, and the ability to handle both administrative and hands-on tasks. We are open to training the right candidate. We do not offer medical insurance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform initial patient intake and record medical history.
  • Conduct preliminary eye tests such as visual acuity, eye muscle movements, and peripheral vision tests.
  • Administer tests like color vision, tonometry (eye pressure), and refraction tests under the guidance of the optometrist.
  • Prepare and operate diagnostic equipment for eye exams.
  • Assist optometrists during eye examinations, taking measurements, and charting results
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including test results, treatments, and prescriptions.
  • Provide excellent customer service, answer questions, and address patient concerns.
  • Explain insurance coverage and benefits to patients as needed.
  • Ensure that all areas of the office are kept clean and organized, including sterilizing equipment and workstations.
  • Process patient paperwork, including insurance information and payment transactions.
  • Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a medical assistant or customer service role preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of optometry or experience in a similar setting is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in using office equipment and computer systems.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • 4 days each week
  • No weekends

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Expected hours: 32 – 34 per week

  • Ophthalmology: 1 year (Preferred)
