Overview
The CBW (Continuous Batch Washer) tunnel operator’s main responsibility is performing the specialized tasks of loading the CBW Tunnel Washer, operation of the 50 Bar Hydraulic Press, and Controlling the PC that operates the Dryers and Shuttle transport. Operator must also ensure none of the various customer owned goods becomes co-mingled with another property. Report all safety, mechanical, and quality deficiencies immediately.
Responsibilities
Know your job. Complete job skills training and possess an expert knowledge of the job, know property standards, listen attentively in Pre-shift and ask for clarification of assignments and expectations. Apply experience and training to accomplish tasks.
Be on time. This is very important. The CBW operator is the “quarterback” of the entire operation. Follow attendance guidelines and reports to work on time and follow clock in and out procedures.
Be on stage. Associates are friendly, approachable, and always willing to assist. Associates must follow property personal appearance standards, is well groomed, in uniform and practices good personal hygiene.
Conduct yourself professionally and collaboratively with Guests and fellow Associates an in accord with the company’s service culture, “The Keys to Making it Right.”
Work smart. Understand the needs of the shift, use resources properly, complete all assignment methodically and promptly without losing attention to details.
Use your tools. Use the approved tools and checklists to complete assigned tasks.
Measure Up. Associate produces work that exceeds the standards of the department in terms of volume and quality of a CBW operator. Associate meets challenging goals and measures as defined by Department Leadership.
Respect the space. Keep your work area clean and organized. Must maintain a tidy and efficient work area including blowing down the computers, equipment control boxes, as well as making sure the work area is safe and clear of any safety issues and debris. Report any deficiencies promptly to your Supervisor.
Be safe. Associate must always adhere to all safety procedures. Report unsafe work conditions or practices and safety/ security violations in accordance with company policy.
Support the Team: Cooperate with other Associates and Supervisors striving to create a positive work environment. Support team efforts through carrying out responsibilities in a constructive and professional manner.
Computer Proficiency: Must demonstrate aptitude to operate and understand CBW computer, Dryer computer, and Hydraulic Press control panel.
Provide feedback to appropriate authority on linen quality, safety, security & physical environment concerns.
Ensure the customer owned goods from one property do not get co-mingled with another property.
Finish clean linen in accordance with established quality and production standards.
Successfully complete all other duties assigned.
Qualifications
Type Qualification
Experience Minimum of 5 years work experience in a commercial laundry facility or similar discipline with a commensurate skill set - hospitality, prison, military.
Skill Possesses or can acquire and retain a basic knowledge of laundry cleaning chemicals & procedures.
Skill Works well under moderate stress involving deadlines.
Skill Able to work flexible shifts - may be required to work irregular hours, weekends & holidays to accommodate multiple shift schedules.
Skill Able to maintain high quality standards (low defect rate) while performing repetitive tasks.
