Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated X-ray Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using X-ray equipment, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process. This role requires a strong understanding of anatomy, medical terminology, and aseptic techniques, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Perform X-ray examinations on patients as per physician orders, ensuring high-quality images for diagnostic evaluation.
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, positioning them correctly, and ensuring their comfort.
- Maintain and operate X-ray equipment, performing routine checks and troubleshooting when necessary.
- Adhere to safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to discuss imaging results and provide necessary follow-up care.
- Document patient information accurately in medical records and maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Stay updated on advancements in imaging technology and techniques, including mammography and sonography.
- Assist in emergency medicine situations as required, particularly in a Level I Trauma Center setting.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program.
- Valid state licensure or certification as an X-ray Technician.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and aseptic techniques.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with patients and healthcare team members effectively.
