Quality Control Technician The Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring that all incoming materials, work-in-process, and outgoing products meet the required quality standards. This role involves performing quality checks, testing, and analysis of production operations and processes to ensure product compliance with customer and regulatory specifications. The position also includes maintaining accurate documentation and assisting with audits, training, and continuous improvements in quality systems.Primary ResponsibilitiesRaw Material Testing : Perform random sampling of raw materials upon delivery and ensure they meet quality standards.Sample Testing : Conduct tests on samples as materials arrive at the facility to ensure they meet required standards.Compliance Testing : Ensure adherence to CSA Testing, Underwriters Laboratory testing, and federal / state regulatory standards.Dimensional & Functional Testing : Perform tests using various instruments, including micrometers, calipers, and custom test gear, to verify product dimensions and functionality.Melt Index Testing : Test and set the melt index by analyzing samples.Machine Setup Verification : Confirm that machine setups are accurate and ensure the product runs according to customer specifications.Documentation : Complete all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.Accept / Reject Limits : Establish and enforce accept / reject criteria for production quality.Process Capability Studies : Conduct Statistical Process Control (SPC) studies to monitor process performance.Data Reporting : Collect and report data on product quality and production processes accurately and promptly.Secondary ResponsibilitiesConduct quality audits as required.Assist with quality system training for employees.Support manufacturing and receiving inspections in quality control.Aid in ISO 9001 and other audit processes as needed.Maintain a clean and safe work environment, reporting safety issues and work-related accidents.Perform other duties as assigned by management.Education / ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent is required.An Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in a manufacturing-related field is preferred.Skills & AbilitiesKnowledge of manufacturing processes, procedures, and machinery.Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).Ability to work effectively in a team environment and lead quality initiatives.High level of personal integrity and confidentiality.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Proficiency in using micrometers, calipers, gates, multi-meters, oscilloscopes, and other testing equipment.Strong computer and math skills.Work HoursStandard work hours : 7 : 00 AM to 3 : 30 PM, Monday through Friday (with a 30-minute unpaid meal break).Flexibility required; hours may vary based on customer needs and manufacturing requirements.
