Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following, as well as other duties that may be assigned.
- Sets up, programs and operates mills independently
- Loads program, loads tooling, makes program edits, adjusts offset and tool cutter comp to optimize production while maintaining quality
- Works from schedule, shop travelers, established procedures, blueprints, written specifications and/or verbal instructions from supervisor and identifies deviations that can potentially interrupt productivity
- Submit parts to Quality Control Department for first article of inspection, applies geometric dimensioning & tolerancing in process inspection and maintains high quality and safety standards
- Utilizes various inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, coordinate measuring machines, optical comparators, gauges and other hand tools to support in-process inspection of parts to maintain consistency and repeatability
- Tracks job set up and cycle time on traveler and in software
- Maintains machine operation oil and coolant levels, updates preventive maintenance log and communicates any issue or malfunctions outside scope of expertise
- Cleans machine parts and performs machine maintenance
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Proficiency using CNC manufacturing machinery
- Knowledge of basic computer skills and understand machining programs
- Knowledge of geometric dimensions and tolerances
- CNC Machine Certification preferred
